11 Questions You Should Ask Your Realtor Before Working With Them

Finding the right real estate agent to sell your home isn't always simple and you deserve an amazing Realtor.

These 11 questions will help you understand if you've found the right one for you!

 

1. Do you have testimonials from Past Clients that I can read?

After asking for recommendations and reading testimonials almost every day, we make decisions on purchases. Hiring a real estate agent is no different. an experienced and well-respected agend should have several testimonials from past buyers and sellers that they've helped over their career, ready for you to read. 

2. How will you determine my home's value?

Having an accurate picture of your home's value and a strong pricing strategy from the start will help ensure that your home sells quickly and for top dollar. Relying solely on online home valuation tools is simply not enough to give you the full picture. We encourage you to dig deeper. 

There are hundreds of factors that we take into consideration when estimating your home's values. no two reports are the same. We don't just take a look at your home, but also your surrounding area. We go in-depth with our research, including the unique features of your home and neighbourhood, considering any updates in your home, and potential developments in the surrounding vicinity. All of this is done personally. None of our analysis and reports run simply on an algorithim, and this information is not available to us or you at the push of a button. 

3. What would be a good offer for my home in this market?

Understanding the market and being up to date on the latest statistics and trends is all part of a real estate agent's job. Your home may very well sell for a different price no than it would have a year ago! That is why we have our finger on the pulse of the market! We stay up-to-date on the real estate activities and regulary share those with our clients. 

4. Have you sold any homes in my neighbourhood before?

5. What do you predict will happen in the market within the next 6 months?

An open house is traditionally a great way to let potential buyers know about your home and let them really get a sense of the home. Today, due to the current state of the world, open houses are done differently -- your agent will be able to guide you through this process. 

10. Can you also help me find a home to buy?

We're sure you're experiencing the lack of inventory in today's market while searching for a new home and that may be holding you back from selling your home now. We want you to know that we're here to help. Your Realtor has access to all of the homes in MLS (and even some off-market properties). They should connect with their network and offer advice on other options you may have if you end up being in-between homes.
